Vaccine-induced thrombosis and thrombocytopenia (VITT) in Ireland: A review of cases and current practices

Since the beginning of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS CoV-2) virus pandemic, several highly effective and safe vaccines have been produced at remarkable speed. Following global implementation vaccination programmes, cases thrombosis with thrombocytopenia following administration adenoviral vector-based started being reported. In this review we discuss known pathogenesis epidemiology so-called vaccine induced (VITT). We consider available guidelines, diagnostic laboratory tests management options for these patients. Finally, important unanswered questions areas future research in novel pathoclinical entity.
